Twenty-six people joined us for the Will Wells Tournament on Saturday 6/7. We had the familiar faces of experienced members and folks new to the club and bocce. In the spirit of Will the teams were randomly selected and the 13 teams started the double elimination tournament.

Lots of close games and friendly competition as the brackets were whittled down. In the winners bracket the two undefeated teams of Bryan Pearce & Sue Nadeau, and Phil Seeman & Scott Goyette went head to head.  Phil & Scott prevailed to stay in the winners bracket. 

Meanwhile Stacia Cheney & Laura Lurie, who lost their opening game, were quietly moving thru the losers bracket knocking off four teams and ready to take on Bryan & Sue. Stacia & Laura got the win and went up against the well-rested Scott & Phil. They had a great run, but Phil & Scott pulled out the win.

It was a good start to the season with all the leagues represented along with club members not currently in a league. Thanks go to Roy Shapiro & Stacia Cheney for hosting and all those that stepped up & refereed games. We also appreciate members who couldn’t play but stopped by to visit.
