Saturday 8/24 was a perfect day for our State Doubles Tournament. Fourteen teams, including several folks who came alone and teamed up at registration, were ready to start at 10am.

The courts were in great shape with lots of close games. At the quarterfinals, the teams still in were Roy & Jay (Red League), Dan & Jeff and Matt & Keith (both Green League), and Ashley (Green League) & Henry (Red League) who met at registration! The two Green League teams moved on to the semis and Matt & Keith moved on to the finals. Meanwhile - the teams were fighting their way through the losers bracket as Ashley & Henry beat Roy & Jay, only to lose to Dan & Jeff. 

Finals were set- Dan & Jeff went up against Matt & Keith once again. The competition in the game to 11 was fierce, and with the game tied at 10, Dan & Jeff came out on top, giving Matt & Keith their first loss of the day. The second match was full of great shots and ultimately Dan & Jeff got the win in a hard-fought match for gold!

Gold- Dan Ryan & Jeff Maier

Silver- Matt Lieb & Keith Gadwah

Bronze- Ashley Watson & Henry Shustin
