Saturday 8/23 was another great day for bocce with sunshine, a nice breeze & comfortable temperatures for the State Doubles Tournament. Fourteen teams showed the talent across all the leagues, previewing the level of play we’ll see in the league championships.

The courts were fast due to the dry weather, and more than one team noticed some courts were quirkier than usual, creating additional challenges. 

In the winners bracket two teams, Dan Ryan & Jeff Maier, and Diane & Phil Seeman, worked their way to the semi finals. Meanwhile, Jeff & Kristy Spengler sent the team of Jen Wafer & Jess Britton to the loser’s bracket, only to meet them again where Jen & Jess prevailed! Jen & Jess were on a roll and worked their way to the finals against Dan & Jeff. With their consistent play, Dan & Jeff finished the day undefeated, winning the State Doubles tournament for the second straight year!! Congratulations!!!
